This was our first time flying American in Flagship Business. Our ticket got us access the JFK Flagship lounge which is the same lounge international business class has access to. We scanned our boarding pass and was directed towards the lounge.
Unfortunately The Bridge wasn’t open. This is a space behind the check in desk that is often empty. We headed through the doors into a hallway and was offered champagne.
The lounge was busy but not over crowded. There are several areas including a quiet room, seating with TVs, a champagne bar, working “nooks”, and general seating.
The buffet was impressive for a domestic flight. There were a variety of food and drink options. I’d argue that depending on the dish the food rivaled American Express Centurion lounges.
Overall this was a nice lounge. While this isn’t leading the way for international business class lounges they are better than what other airlines offer on the route.
