Singapore Airlines has quite the lounge setup at Changi. There is the KrisFlyer Gold lounge. This is Singapore Airlines Star Alliance lounge (people traveling in economy with status). Then there is the KrisFlyer lounge which caters to people in ticketed business or first class. The lounge is mostly a business class lounge with a section for first class. However, the first class section is meant for passengers ticketed on Star Alliance first class. If you’re ticketed on Singapore Airlines first or suites class there is another room with the first class lounge called The Private Room.
Just to recap within the business class lounge is a first class lounge. Within the first class lounge is The Private Room. Nothing better than a lounge within a lounge within a lounge. I presented my gold suites boarding pass and the attendant escorted me to The Private Room.
We went from the business class lounge to the first class lounge.
Then we arrived at The Private Room. The lounge is essentially two areas. General lounge seating and dining. The general seat runs the length of the rectangular room and has leather seats.
There is also a TV sitting area.
Next to the TV area are phone rooms.
The dining area has mostly brown leather booths which give me a steakhouse feel.
I was presented a menu for breakfast. Which included:
- Dim Sum
There was also an extensive tea and drinks menu. The Private Room offers Dom Perignon 2009 champagne.
I ordered the eggs Benedict and a diet coke. The eggs Benedict tasted very fresh and was great. The overall service was very professional as well.
It’s pretty cool how this is a lounge within a lounge within a lounge. The service was great and the food was good. However, compared to other first class lounges this lounge doesn’t necessarily stand out. However, the lounge was never to crowded which is really the best part.
