This was a lounge I wanted to visit for some time. The access requirements are that you must be coming off a long haul international flight in business or first and land between 6 AM and 12:30 PM. Essentially this is catered to mostly United flights as partner flights get in later than 12:30 PM (at least Asian flights).
I took the escalator up to departures, flowed signs for terminal 3, then went back down the escalator towards baggage claim and followed signs for the United Arrival lounge.
The agent quickly scanned my boarding pass and I was admitted. The agent asked if I wanted to take a shower (there are 14 available), which I would later take her up on.
The lounge has a small seating area consisting of seating for about 20.
The buffet was much better than any United Club and included oatmeal, cereal, fruit, and hot food. It reminded me of the old Global First Lounge (which has now been converted to a normal lounge and is over crowded with weak offerings).
There was also self serve drinks and coffee.
Other amenities included newspapers.
The bathrooms are all individual use and were fairly large and included an area to place luggage on.
The shower rooms had Cowshed amenities, towels, and a shaving kit could be provided if requested.
While the lounge may not have the latest United Club look, it has solid amenities and isn’t crowded which is what a lounge is suppose to be. After landing from Taipei, I wanted a quick bite and shower and this lounge provides that.
