I was pretty excited for this flight. After researching options for domestic flights in India it seems Vistara was the best. Their marketing materials advertise how they are more premium and upscale than their competitors. One of the things the marketing materials called out was better boarding music (it was more rock-n-roll-ish with some pop).
Originally we were set to fly SIN-DEL-AMD on an Air India award ticket in business class. However, Air India canceled the DEL-AMD leg and I looked for other options. Enter Vistara. This is an airline that currently only flies domestic in India from their hub in New Delhi. The airline is a JV between Tata and Singapore Airlines.
I wasn’t to excited for this flight. Air India isn’t know for being a great airline and is perpetually on the verge of collapse (but so is Jet Airways). We headed to the gate at 8:30 AM to clear security and boarded a few minutes after that.
