This was my second time flying Korean Airlines first class and I was pretty excited. I booked this flight by transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards to Korean Airlines before Chase devalued the program. We checked in using the first class line which had no wait.
Boarding passes in hand we headed off to the Air France lounge.
Upon entering the lounge we were escorted to the first class room. This was literally a room with 10 chairs and nothing else.
The rest of the lounge wasn’t anything noteworthy. The lounge can be accessed via Priority Pass as well (which is why it’s probably not a noteworthy lounge). We boarded on time at 11 PM.
Date: Friday January 18
Seat: 1E First Class
Scheduled Push Back: 11:30 PM
Actual Push Back: 11:45 PM
I was escorted to my suite and was provided an amenity kit, Bose headphones, a blanket, and pajamas.
The amenity kit contained the standard selection of creams, lip balm, and eye shades.
Unfortunately there was no individual air vents which is a great amenity.
The boarding door was shut and meal orders were taken. There would be a supper service after takeoff followed by a breakfast service before landing. I went with the Korean Bibimbap for dinner and the eggs for breakfast.
We pushed back at 11:45 PM and made our way to the runway. We took off at 12:12 AM with a remaining flying time just short of 12 hours. Shortly after takeoff our tray table was set for dinner.
First up was the appetizer of tuna tartare.
Next was the Bibimbap main.
The main course was followed by fruit.
After the meal a turndown service was provided which includes a mattress topper. Korean has sliding doors on their suites. However, they aren’t that high.
I woke up with about 2 hours remaining in the flight and my tray was set for breakfast. The service started off with a bread selection of a bagel, croissant, or pound cake. There was also a selection of yogurts and cereals.
This was followed by the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon.
Finally there was a fruit selection.
We landed 15 minutes early and taxied to the gate.
This was another good flight with Korean Airlines. I think Korean Airlines should expand their tea selection. The only black tea option was Lipton which seems pretty basic. Singapore airlines has a nice tea selection from TWG.
